5th Nepali died from drowning in Australia in 2020

Nekit Shrestha came to Australia as a student but has fallen victim to a deadly threat that has taken the lives of many Nepalese in Australia.

In 2020, Nekit has become the 5th Nepali to died from drowning. The young man in his early 20s lost his life while enjoying in the water at Queensland’s Stradbroke Island on the 4th of March.

Umesh Khadka, Coordinator of NRNA Queensland broke the sad news to Mr. Nekit’s family back in Nepal. He was the only son of his parents and recently completed his first semester at Federation University.

Previously, two Nepalese had drowned in Sydney on 4th of January. While one of them survived, the other, unfortunately, lost his life.
