I am pleased to introduce myself as an applicant to Australian College of Technology, Sydney and I am thankful that I have been provided this opportunity to express my thoughts of my own and academic facts. My name is Rajendra , born on 31st December 1998. I am Nepalese citizen and I am residency of Vyas Municipality ward no. 9. Tanahun, Nepal. Regarding my academic profile, I did my schooling from Barahi Boarding Ma Vi with good percentage (77.75%) and I have recently completed my higher secondary school securing 75.90% from Kathmandu Bernharot H S School in 2016. I appeared my IELTS exam on 4th August 2016 and obtained 6 overall. I had apply for the visa previously too but my visa application became invalid due to unacceptable under 18 welfare arrangement. Now I am over 18 year and applying for the visa again. I am a laborious student who likes to learn new things using distinct techniques.

After my schooling, I was in search of a field where I could show my inner potential. In underdeveloped countries like Nepal, people give most priority for doctor and engineering only as the students who are involved in these respective fields are praised and respected by people in the society. So, the trend of Nepalese students studying these two faculties has increased variously. As a result of this, there has been lack of opportunities and employment. So I decided to choose other fields where I can research new things, where there is availability of opportunities and chances through which I could secure my future. After going through various findings and research, I prefer Information Technology (IT) as my field of choice.

In this modern era, technologies have made world like a global village. In addition, it has made our lives easier as we can interact and communicate by the aid of technology with people living in every corner of the world which was not possible in past. Information technology is one industry that is going to change the world completely in near future. It will help to shape our future for centuries to come. IT plays a significant role in today’s society. Nowadays, people are very much familiar with computer. People with computer knowledge and skills are always in demand. I have always found myself driven towards the field of computer as it has been my subject of interest since my Schooling. Ever since, my curiosity towards computer kept on increasing day by day. This interest has guided me to choose the field of IT and I have a desire to become an IT professional in my career. Nepal is a developing country with enormous potential in the field of Information Technology. I believe IT will play a dominant role to take society to the next level. After my higher secondary education, I didn’t felt comfortable studying IT in my home country. Though courses of IT are available here in Nepal along with opportunities, there is lack of graduates in our country. There are few educational institutions which provide education on course related to Information Technology. Not only that, the education here is theory based rather than practical and provides few facilities. I discussed with my father briefly about giving continuity to my further study in my home nation or in abroad. After understanding the education system of my country we preferred abroad for my further education. Also I already studied long time in Nepal and now I want to study in different environment where I will have an opportunity to meet people from different nations so that we can exchange ideas and culture too. Nepalese qualification is not globally competitive in compare with Australian degree. So along with full support and agreement of my father I preferred foreign for my further education.

After I made my mind for abroad and selecting Information Technology as my field of choice, I had to choose the right country for my further education i.e. Australia as compare with few other country like USA and UK. I went through various colleges and universities along with their requirement and status in the market. I came to know that Australia is able to graduate large rate of international students annually as it offers good educational experience that makes a real difference. Facilities regarding teaching, training and research are world class. Graduates from Australia are very successful in finding job and hold prominent position in different private and government organizations of my country. There is lack of wide range of material related to field of Information Technology in Nepal whereas the Australian education system is far ahead than that of Nepal because of modern technology and practice through it. I came to know that the education system of Australia is based on critical analysis and moreover practical based rather than theoretical. Also the Australian qualification is recognized all over the world.  Though there are different European as well as American countries for abroad studies I prefer Australia as the climate of Australia is similar to that of my country which is positive aspect for my abroad study as it won’t be much difficult for me to newly settle in Australia for temporary period during my study. I found that the process of Australia was quite straight forward and fast in comparison to other countries. Furthermore, the educational environment of Australia is excellent. Australia has ESOS Act which deals about the rights of the international students. Also there is TPS (Tuition Protection Service) which makes safe of the paid fees of international students. It is well known and presented as a friendly place that offers quality education. This is why I choose Australia for my higher studies. Australia also offer Post Study Work opportunity for international student which is additional very good benefit as it will give an opportunity to have international work experience in the course related field. While doing research about UK and USA I came to know that these countries are not offering Post Study Work opportunity and also there is no such proper law for international student like ESOS Act of Australia. Also, there is no such Tuition Protection Service in USA and UK. Australia is a very safe country and crime rate is very low but I used to listen gun issues every day in USA means it is not safe country for international student.

After course completion I will have academic knowledge and will do PSW which will increase the level of confidence, competitiveness to find out the better job. I will be back to home country and will search for the competitive job in Nepal as well as abroad, will be given first priority to home land if I found competitive job here in Nepal otherwise would like to do international job in Nepal or abroad based on my degree from Australia. Throughout the post study work period, I believe I’ll gain a lot of experiences in my own field which will probably help me to get a good post in top companies of Nepal like Nepal Telecome (NTC), an Axiata Company NCELL, Surya Nepal Verisk Information Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Deerwalk services Pvt. Ltd, Brain Digit IT solutions Pvt. Ltd & SPI Nepal Pvt. Ltd etc. Every year there are numbers of job vacation offered in telecommunication companies in Nepal for IT infrastructure solutions manager and software developer for which provides high salary. Also there are high demands of IT manager in different factories, banks, universities of my country. My country is a developing nation so I want to serve my best to my own country in future being an IT professional. I hope to explore on various field of software and become professionally a well-educated technician.

Australia itself is a continent and many people of distinct culture and ethnic group reside. As a result, cultural diversity has been one of the major identities of Australia, I am keen to study in a cultural environment innovating new things via various techniques. In my home nation, there is absence of quality education. Computer subject isn’t compulsory in Higher secondary level. I studied computer for a year in higher secondary level and the knowledge was theory specific. So there was lack of practical education regarding programming and software tasks. As I decided to complete my bachelor degree from abroad, I realized that studying bachelor wasn’t that easy for me as I had no idea about programming and practical knowledge. So, I felt that I must start from basics as the education level of Australia doesn’t match with Nepal. And my decision was to go for Advance Diploma courses rather than joining university. Then, I had to choose a good reputed institute for my advance diploma. After going through various websites, attending seminars, education fair and counseling from education agent I came to know about Australian College of Technology, Sydney and choosing ACT.

The duration of the course that I am intended for is overall of 2 years. The total fee of the course is AUD $ 16,000 and per year the amount to be paid is AUD $ 8,000 as per the fees structure of 2016. Australian College of Technology is one providing vocational qualification where I can get quality education in very affordable cost and its vocational education is also pathway for further study with university. It offers more than 230 qualifications to about 14000 students across all campuses. Articulation and other arrangements are in place with several universities and other higher education providers. These enable graduates of the Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses to be considered for advanced standing for their university studies, in Australia. Established in 1908 Academies Australasia group has been operating for more than 107 years. It has a long and successful history in education – going back in excess of 50 years. This college offer counselling services to assist students with academic issues as well as matters arising from adjusting to life in Australia. Some of the subjects that I will be studying in ACT are ICT Sustainability, Cloud Computing, Manage ICT Communication, ICT Copyrights and Ethics, Project Management and Manage ICT Team which are quite similar to the subjects that I have studied in my school days so I expect this would help for better understanding of my desired course. After the successfully completion of my study I will be qualified for different good careers like IT infrastructure solutions manager, software developer, software manager, business development manager, web developer, etc. The Software developer is the career I have dreamt for and this program will help me for the achievement of my dreamt career.

Sydney has been my dream city from my small age. I am a great fan of Australian cricket team and Australian music from my childhood. So I often used to hear about Sydney during cricket games. And I always wondered how it would be like. As I came to know that ACT is located at Sydney, and it is globally recognized as leading institution for innovation, enterprise and for preparing its graduate for successful career, I was keen to study in this institution. To get the opportunity to shape a successful career in my city of choice will be like dream come true to me.  The institute lies near town hall i.e. it is linked with railway stations and bus stops which become easy for students regarding transportation. The fee of Australian College of Technology is affordable for Nepalese students along with good infrastructure. As I researched about IT providers at Sydney, I found TAFE NSW, SIBT, Pacific College, Holmes Institute, CSU & UOS, and Australian College of Technology etc. I compared tuition fees, academic and English entry requirements, course structure, and location of those providers and finally satisfied with Australian College of Technology. I was pretty much affected by the affordable fee within a good education infrastructure of ACT. Likely, classrooms are small in size which are very helpful for the students to get full attention from the each individual. Australian College of Technology is highly reputed with high education standard. It provides alternative pathways into university for further education. The research facilities are excellent and more practical with well managed and furnished classrooms and labs. I came to know that, the teachers at Australian College of Technology are highly qualified with lot of experiences and they can easily share them with students. Classes are generally small that will help me to interact directly with teachers and get personal attention. Sydney is known as the fastest growing city in the world. The cultural diversity, facilities, climate, healthy environment, and lifestyle of Sydney are suitable for international students. I believe it will be a great platform to bring out best of me. So, I felt best pursuing my Advance Diploma in Information Technology in Australian College of Technology.

Being a responsible person, I will surely come back because of my parents love. I have many responsibilities after my parents pass away. I have to handle the property of my family and look after the business. Also, I am a person with strong patriotism. Cultures, natural beauty, and tradition of my country have always bounded me with a strong bond. The friend circle and love of my beloved ones will always be a major reason to keep my mind concentrated towards my country. From the knowledge I gained from my course I want to do something great and transfigure the society by showing it the path of development.

I will complete my Advance Diploma first and then I will apply for Bachelor of Information Technology course in Australian Universities i.e. Federation University, Central Queensland University, Western Sydney University with credit from my Advance Diploma. I have planned to complete my Bachelor’s degree from Federation University Sydney as Academic Australasia Groups is also affiliated with Federation University. I will be getting credit so I will complete my remaining Bachelor. It will minimize my total cost to complete bachelor than applying directly for the bachelor. I can complete my advance diploma just in AUD16000 in ACT and can invest approx. 24000AUD for final year of bachelor in University. It means I can complete my full bachelor in AUD 40000 where I need to pay approx. 72000 AUD while applying directly Bachelor in University. I will have an opportunity to study in small class size in colleges than University so that I can get personal attention by the tutor.

My parents have agreed to bear the full financial responsibility of my study to Australia. My father, brother, grandmother and my maternal uncle will sponsor for my studies. My father is employed as a government school head teacher and my brother is an Indian Police officer. I also have taken educational loan from Nabil Bank which is sufficient to pay my fees and living cost. I assure you that my family is financially sound and they will sponsor me till the period of my studies. I already paid my first year’s full fee to my college.

I will sincerely follow each and every instructions and order given to me by the college representatives. I will be within the bound of laws for student visa conditions. And I want to assure you that my living in Australia will not be permanent as my entry to Australia is for pursuing higher studies. I will return to my home nation and I will work and research in the same field.

In conclusion, my future plan isn’t only to graduate from my college but to become a successful IT professional. I want to upraise my knowledge in field of Information Technology, share it with people, led my country towards development and have a successful career.

Looking forward for your positive response

Mr. Rajendra
